Matt Trujillo - President
Matt offers extremely strong credentials
applicable to environmental health and safety
training. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in
Community and Environmental Health and a
minor in Chemistry from the University of
Utah (Fall 1987). Matt has also completed
graduate work in Public Health. Matt has also
completed hundred of hours of training from
DOT, EPA, OSHA, National Fire Academy, Utah
Safety Council, etc.
Joe Trujillo - Vice President,
Director of Training
Joe holds a Bachelor Degree in Health Science
from the University of Utah (Fall 1988). He is a
registered Envinonmental Health Specialist and
has served as Adjunct Instructor for the
RMCOH/ University of Utah, Salt Lake and Utah
Valley Community Colleges, Hazardous
Materials Association, National Fire Academy,
Colorado State Fire Academy, and the Utah
Police Officers Standards and Training Group.
Joe is also the former President of the Utah
Hazardous Materials Association and former
commander for Tooele County Search and
Rescue.
Nick Trujillo
Nick graduated from Southern Utah University in
2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Communication
and Minor Degrees in Chemistry and Spanish, as
well as graduating with his Masters degree in
Professional Communication in May 2011. With
Nick's language skills that he has acquired
studying in both Spain and Mexico, he has
become the lead instructor for many of the ITS
Spanish Courses.
Part Time Instructors
Douglas Thornton
Doug offers strong credentials in health,
safety and environmental training. Doug
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Public Health/Industrial Hygiene and a
minor in Chemistry from Utah State
University. He holds a Master of Science
degree in Public Health/Industrial
Hygiene from the University of Utah
School of Medicine. Doug is also a
certified Industrial Hygienest.
Kay Rose
Kay has over nine years experience
and extensive knowledge of RCRA,
OSHA, DOT, TSCA, NEPA, and Army
Environmental Regulations. She is
certified in Environmental Sampling
ITS for the last five years. Kay's full
time position is a supervisor of the
22,000 sq.ft. Dugway Proving
Grounds Central Hazordous Waste
Storage Facility.
Herman Herrera
Herman is currently a Lieutenant with the
Tooele County Sherriff's Department and
is supervisor over HAZMAT and SWAT for
the county. Herman has been teaching
HAZMAT, MSHA, and General Safety
classes for over 15 years as an adjunct
instructor for ITS. Herman has completed
hundreds of hours of training as a student
and thousands of hours as an instructor.
